All authorized taxis have the legal obligation to post in a visible place on the car the tariff and individual identification details:
- the number and the city of authorization and the expiration date of the taxi license - back doors;
- a badge with the name and a photograph of the taxi driver – inside the car.
Before entering a taxi cab, look for the identification information posted on the outside of the car. If you find an unmarked taxi car do not use its services.
The day tariff is in effect between the hours of 6,00AM and 10,00PM and the night tariff between the hours of 10,00PM and 6,00AM. The tariff has to meet the terms established by law.
Residence time / parking charge – is expressed in lei/hour and is automatically applicable for the period the taxi is parked at the disposal of the client, at his request and, also for the period the taxi is moving under the commuting speed limit. The commuting speed limit is set legally at 10km/h.
The taxi driver is obliged to give you a receipt at the end of the trip. The official stamp is not mandatory and will vary by car.

Still, you can use taxi services for going outside cities, but this has to be done by mutual agreement between you and the taxi driver.

The maximum number of passengers in a taxi is limited by law to the number of seats available in vehicle (4 persons for typical cars). Breaking this rule is considered a infringement and is sanctioned by the law.
Calmly explain your situation to the taxi driver. If you need, ask for help from the taxi company that owns the taxi. In order to avoid unpleasant situations ask the police for help.

- Try to retain the identification number for the taxi and as much details about the driver and the car as possible.
- It is useful to ask from the begining about the estimated time of the trip you are going to make with that taxi.
- It may be useful to have a map with you and try to follow the way as much as possible.
- If you are not satisfied with the services offered, ask the taxi company for help.
It depends on the company`s policy. When preorder is available, it typically must be placed at least 24 hours in advance of the event.
